It was a beautiful day to celebrate the marriage of Emma and Isaac at the Church of the Magdalen, Wichita, Kansas. This sweet, fun and gorgeous couple were so happy to be getting married to one another and were joined by their amazing friends and family. It was an honor to capture this very special day, taking photos and filming the day too.
Emma had a lot of fun getting ready in the morning. It was very busy and the whole family were amazing at helping us get the pre-ceremony shots. Emma was surrounded by her family and her sorority friends, who helped her get ready and quickly cleared her mind of any nerves when needed, as good close friends do. They all wore matching silk pyjamas, for that added touch of comfort whilst getting ready, and Emma's robe had her new name stitched in to the back. Emma was a stunning bride. She wore a floor-length white gown that had delicate sleeves and a beautiful train. Her hair was placed in a gorgeous updo, finished with flowers and a stunning veil. She looked truly radiant. It is always a beautiful moment seeing the bride in her gown for the first time, and you can see it is the moment where it all becomes completely real.
Isaac was cracking jokes all day. He also felt a few pre-wedding jitters, which is a more than normal occurrence on the biggest day of your life. Like Emma, Isaac's friends rallied around to help him get ready and calm his nerves. It wasn't nerves of fear though, but more of excitement, adrenaline and overwhelming feelings about this very special day and wanting it to be perfect. All the groomsmen went to college together and were part of a fraternity. It was great seeing Isaac with his close friends and seeing his personality come out.
Emma and Isaac exchanged gifts before the ceremony. Along with their gifts, they wrote letters to one another. It was a very emotional and sweet moment seeing them read those specials words and receive their meaningful gifts. Before the ceremony, we captured shots of both parties outside. It was a beautiful day and the slightly overcast weather allowed us to take the most gorgeous shots of the whole day. Emma's beautiful bridesmaids wore stunning purple dresses that suited them all perfectly. The style of the dresses really complimented Emma's wedding gown and the beautiful little flower girls wore white and lilac dresses to match. We also captured photos of Isaac and his groomsmen outside when they were all suited and booted. They wore purple ties to match with the bridesmaids and stunning black suits. Moments of prayer were shared before they headed in for the ceremony.
It was a beautiful, traditional catholic ceremony held in the most amazing church. The church had beautiful exposed brick, large windows that let the light flow in the and most amazing high ceiling. It was a very open and calm space and the ceremony was wonderful. Emma looked radiant as she walked down the aisle towards Isaac, who couldn't wait for her to reach him. They took part in mass and brought flowers to Mother Mary as part of the ceremony. It was a joy to watch them become husband and wife and see them happily walk back down the aisle as a married couple. We captured some stunning shots of the bridal party and groomsmen just after the ceremony in the church and then headed to a nearby park to capture more photographs. As we took photos of the couple with the beautiful background of yellow flowers and next to the water, it was clear just how much love they had for one another. We captured shots of the couple walking along a gorgeous, sweeping path through the trees and Isaac romantically dipped Emma, like in an old movie. Once we captured these stunning photos, we all headed to the party bus and drove back to the wedding to let the celebrations continue. They all had a drink in the limousine and got in to the party spirit.
The happy couple danced their way into the reception and were warmly welcomed by friends and family. There were beautiful toasts, champagne was popping and cake was enjoyed. The night soon turned into an amazing party. The dance floor was packed and everyone was up for celebrating and dancing the night away. There was a real sense of community and a whole lot of love for the happy couple. It was a wonderful night. At the end, Emma and Isaac went into separate rooms with their friends and took part in a whisky circle. They all passed around a whiskey bottle and shared memories of the couple and took a drink. Everyone took turns and the circle ended with the bride and the groom saying a few words to all their friends about how thankful they were and finishing the bottle to keep as a memento of the day. It was an amazing day shared by friends and family, celebrating the marriage of a wonderful couple.
