We had a wonderful day capturing the wedding of Kirsten and Raul. This was a lighthearted, warm and modern style wedding held at the  The Bride and The Bauer in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kirsten and Raul were a couple who were very much in love. They met while Raul was still working overseas and he moved back to the US to be with her; a true love story. Kirsten looked radiant on her special day. Her wedding dress was stunning. It was a floor length, mermaid style, white lace dress which had elegantly exposed back and sides; it suited her perfectly.

The bridesmaids wore dusky pink dresses, which worked wonderfully with theme and they both wore different styles. The bridal prep room had stunning old windows and exposed brick walls. The whole location had a real old timey feel and worked wonderfully for a wedding setting. The bridal party enjoyed their time together preparing for the special day ahead. We captured some beautiful and emotional shots of the first look between Kirsten and her Father. He was overjoyed to see her and it was a very touching moment.

Raul wore a very smart, light colored suit with a silver patterned tie. He and his groomsmen had a moment together before the ceremony where they all huddled around Raul to prepare him for the most special moment of his life.

The wedding venue  had a very rustic and romantic feel, as it had a lot of exposed brick and was covered in fairy lights. The venue was decorated with a lot of greenery which matched perfectly with Kristen's extraordinary bouquet.

We took some 'almost'  first look photos, where Kristen and Raul  stood either side of wall and held each other's hands. This really built the excitement and the look on their faces when they first saw each other at the altar was a magical moment.

After the ceremony, we took some shots outside with the bride and groom, along with their bridal party and groomsmen. We captured a lot of fun and playful shots, including my favorite of Kristen sticking her hands in the faces of the groomsmen and sticking her tongue out. We photographed Kirsten and Raul together. They were wonderful to photograph and you could see how much love they had for each other.

The reception took place in the same location as the wedding. The wedding co-ordinator did a wonderful job to make sure the whole day ran smoothly for the bride and groom. It was a fabulous evening and the toasts were magnificent. Raul's Mother speaks little English, so a translator was present to allow her to deliver the most heartwarming speech. The toasts gave us more ideas of how wonderful the couple are and how vibrant Kirsten is as a person.

As the day turned to night, the dance floor became full and remained that way almost the entire time. Kirsten and Raul performed a salsa dance for their guests and they nailed it! It was very professional and impressive to watch. Kirsten and Raul also shared a dance with their parents which was very emotional and heartwarming to see. The fun and traditional garter toss took place and the night was rounded off by a special sparkler exit. It was a wonderful way to finish an emotional day filled with love and joy.

Kirsten and Raul were fabulous to photograph and we had a lot of fun. Their family and friends were awesome and it was such an honor to take photos of them both and learn about their amazing love story. We wish them luck with their travels and future together.
