Megan and Alex said “I do” surrounded by their closest family members and friends at an east Kansas venue, Mildale Farm. This venue quickly became one of our favorite outdoor wedding venues to photograph. It’s nestled in the middle of nowhere with a beautiful pond that overlooks the ceremony space. If you’re looking for an outdoor space for your wedding, Mildale Farm is where it’s at! Megan and Alex’s wedding gallery is full of amazing outdoor wedding ideas and sure to give you the inspiration you need for your outdoor ceremony.
We started the day off photographing bride and groom details as well as details of the property. Megan’s dress and details were absolutely breathtaking. Every detail was thoroughly thought through and it really tied the whole day together.
The couple opted to see each other before the ceremony, leaving the excitement for the altar. We love when couples do this. It leaves that much more anticipation for the ceremony. Our favorite part of the ceremony is looking back at the groom to see his reaction. Alex didn’t disappoint. He was full of emotion at the first glance of his fiancé. We caught a glimpse of them looking at each other and you could really feel the true love they shared. The ceremony was filled with love and laughter, making it so enjoyable to be a part of. They ended their ceremony with a non traditional toast and thank you from the bride and groom and a rush back down the aisle smiling from ear to ear.
Immediately following the ceremony, we moved into photographing the wedding party. This group was a blast and the location for the photos was absolutely perfect. They all kept us laughing throughout the day, making it such a fun time! We did the photos in front of the barn, which is the perfect backdrop for large wedding party photos. After wedding party photos, the bridal party and bride and groom joined their guests for the reception where we heard from many family members and friends congratulating them on their new marriage.
We snuck away during golden hour to grab a few photos of Megan and Alex. We always recommend doing this. It allows you to get some beautiful sunset photos, but also gives you, as the bride and groom, some time to have a moment between the two of you — your first moment as husband and wife. We took these photos in the field next to the barn and we couldn’t have had a better backdrop for these photos.
After returning back to their guests and the reception, the two shared in their first dance as husband and wife. Alex shared a dance with his mom and Megan had an emotional dance with her father. Once all of the formal events were completed, the dance floor was opened up and this group brought the party. They knew how to have a good time! They even had a taco food truck brought in for the late night celebration.
We absolutely loved being a part of this wedding as well as every other wedding we photograph or video. We are so thankful for all of our couples who trust us the day of their wedding to capture these moments that last a lifetime
